How a lawn actually gets fixed
Most calls start with one dead patch of lawn and end up being a drainage problem. We would rather fix the cause than sod over it twice.
Everything gets drawn before anything gets dug. You see plant names, mature sizes and where the grades run, so there are no surprises in year three when the arborvitae hits the gutter.

Soil and drainage
We test before we plant. Compacted clay and standing water kill more installs than winter does.

Lawn renovation
Slice seeding, full regrade, or sod where it has to look finished in a weekend.

Planting plans
Natives and proven performers for the seacoast. Salt tolerance matters here more than people think.

Bed edging
Cut spade edge or steel. No plastic, it always heaves.

Mulch and topdressing
Bark mulch or compost, at the right depth. Volcano mulching kills trees.

Irrigation coordination
We do not install systems but we plan the zones with whoever does.

Find out why it failed
Compaction, shade, grubs, dogs or drainage. Fixing the wrong one costs you a season.

Correct the grade
Water needs somewhere to go. Sometimes that is a swale, sometimes it is four inches of loam.

Build the soil
Six inches of screened loam and compost. Thin soil is why lawns burn out in August.

Seed or sod
Fescue blend for sun, fine fescue in shade. Sod when the timeline demands it.
